Island Tour + Blue Grotto Visit - Yellow Line

This cruise turned out to be everything we expected. The tour around the island was fun and relaxing. The guide gave his talk in Italian first and then English. There were some interesting sights on the tour but it was mostly about enjoying the beautifil island on a beautiful day. The tour took the time we were told it would. We stopped at the blue grotto and my two friends took the trip in (I did not due to a bad back). There was no line because we were offseason (everything in Italy is better in the offseason; prices, crowds, weather). Overall I would highly recommend this tour based upon my experience.

We booked the two hour tour around Capri prior to our trip. Can't predict the sea, and it was choppy that day, blue grotto closed. My husband was glad when the tour was over due to the waters. Worth doing if you don't get seasick and want the blue grotto experience.

Our travel agent booked this tour through Viator and it was a nightmare. The tour operator was Sail and Fun or Sail e Fun . The boat owner of this 9 meter boat was Giuseppe of Co. Sail and Fun and also displays his boat for rent on Clickandboat.com for rent. Giuseppe advertises his number on what’s app +39.351.190.59.16 or +39.081.843.98.96 this tour was far from fun and not really a tour but more of a drive by. The local skipper spoke very little English and had a younger first mate that interpreted for him. There was no music at all. After two hours of the three hour trip around the island we were anchored back in the Harbour where we boarded and served Prosecco and some snacks. We flew through the area of the blue grotto which was supposed to be part of the tour and the skipper caused such a wake that all the grotto boat tour operators were yelling and screaming at him in Italian he left with no explanation to us. While anchored in the Harbour a few young people on the boat went for a swim with noodles provided and one had a life jacket on. Two of the 4 people were taken away by the strong current including one wearing a life jacket. They were at least a hundred yards away waiving for assistance and the skipper did nothing but wave back until my husband (an experienced boater) yelled at him to go rescue them. This was also supported by other guests on the boat. It was a stressful situation until they were retrieved. After this incident we asked the skipper along with another couple to be brought back to the dock. We were yards from the dock. The skipper had to call his boss Giuseppe and was told no that there were other guests on the boat and they would not bring us back before the tour ended. If we were younger we would have swam in. We did not let this one tour ruin our incredible trip to Italy.
